Julie’s journey to SUHO has been shaped by a diverse mix of roles across both government and private sectors, where she developed a strong foundation in sustainable design and environmental planning. With experience spanning policy development, strategic planning, and hands-on project delivery, she brings a well-rounded perspective to her work in ESD. Her career has included advising on planning frameworks, conducting performance assessments, and developing sustainability strategies for a wide range of building typologies.
What Julie loves most about ESD consulting is “the chance to create a real, measurable difference in the places people live, work and play.” By collaborating with architects and design teams from the earliest sketches, she helps craft buildings that aren’t just resource-efficient but also healthier, more comfortable spaces for their occupants.
Away from spreadsheets and simulation models, Julie’s big passion is edible landscapes. She believes buildings should do more than shelter us—they can nourish us too. From rooftop veggie beds to community orchards, she champions design solutions that let residents grow food locally, cut food miles and strengthen neighbourhood food security.
Now at SUHO, Julie is excited to keep pushing the boundaries of sustainable practice, ensuring each project leaves both people and planet better off.
