With a diverse career spanning construction, government, and sustainability, Jeremy brings over two decades of experience to SUHO. Beginning his career on building sites at seventeen, he gained hands-on experience constructing mud brick and rammed earth homes throughout the Adelaide Hills and regional South Australia. He later spent fifteen years in government roles across Urban Planning, Energy, and Housing, before returning to the building industry and ultimately joining SUHO.
Jeremy’s favourite aspect of his work is exploring the emerging field of airtightness — challenging conventional building methods and helping drive innovation in how Australian homes are constructed and perform.
He is passionate about good housing design, particularly passive solar principles and a home’s connection to its natural surroundings. Inspired by figures such as architect Glenn Murcutt and his close friend Chris Cools, Jeremy values humility, high professional standards, and building in harmony with nature.
Outside of work, Jeremy enjoys cooking for his family, and still proudly claims to have invented the original “mist tent,” first built at the 1995 Big Day Out.
