Sustainability Consultant

Based in Docklands, Melbourne you will work closely with colleagues across both offices (Melbourne and Adelaide). You will model, report and document ESD projects and present to clients with a focus on excellent customer service.

You will work across a variety of sectors such as Education, Commercial, Residential, Retail and Community, and will have the opportunity to develop your professional skills over time.

With your passion for sustainability in the built environment, you will have the following:

• Bachelor of engineering, Sustainable Design or Architecture is preferred or relevant work experience as an ESD consultant.
• Minimum 2 years of sustainability consultancy experience in National Construction Code (NCC) compliance as well as broader Sustainability requirements with a keen interest in how buildings interact with the environment.
• Ability to understand technical architectural drawings and mechanical design in multi-sector projects
• Exposure to skills relevant to ESD Consulting such as thermal transfer, daylight, thermal comfort, HVAC performance, and WSUD.
• Knowledge of local standards and codes (including NCC).
• Knowledge of the Australian Building Code including compliance requirements for 3.12 & Section J (NCC).
• Experience in providing professional customer service and account management with good communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

The following will be viewed favorably, but not essential:

• Experience with other thermal modeling software e.g. DesignBuilder / EnergyPlus, IES (VE), Rhino / Grasshopper, FirstRate5 etc.
• Mechanical engineering background or strong hands-on HVAC knowledge
• Knowledge of the Victorian town planning process
• Experience or exposure to:
  • Thermal comfort analysis
  • Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
  • Climate adaptation planning
  • WELL, Passive House and/or NABERS
